Victorian Memento Mori Workshop | City of Perth Library 

People throughout history have carried tokens to remind them of those they love, or those they have lost. Carrying pieces of a loved one's hair was incredibly common in historical times. Fashions and types of hair varied but it was in the Victorian era that elaborate hair jewellery and décor reached their peak. Explore the wonderfully weird world of hairwork with Artistic Disorder and check out some 19th-century examples while you create a Memento Mori using traditional techniques. 

Chiming and Bell Decorating Kids Tours

Visit The Bell Tower during school holidays for a special interactive bell ringing experience and craft activities to entertain and delight children ages 2 - 12.

Chinese Heritage at East Perth Cemeteries | East Perth Cemeteries 

Join Kaylene Poon from the Chung Wah Association and Sarah Murphy from the National Trust of Western Australia on Qingming or ‘Tomb Sweeping Day’, the traditional Chinese festival to honour ancestors. Together they will share stories of East Perth Cemeteries and the Chinese connection.

Music at St Mary's Cathedral

Music has enriched the cultural and liturgical life of St Mary’s Cathedral for over 150 years. Join the Cathedral’s Director of Music, Jacinta Jakovcevic, for an unforgettable musical experience featuring early 20th Century music played on St Mary’s historic pipe organ.

Musos in the Mall - Bluegrass Parkway | Forrest Place

Old Central Fire Station Heritage Weekend | DFES Education and Heritage Centre

Imagine life as a firefighter and help DFES mark its 125th anniversary by joining them on their special celebratory weekend across Saturday 6 and Sunday April. 

Vintage fire engines will be waiting for you to inspect at Hibernian Place and the Murray Street Mall, and the historic Old Central Fire Station is open for you to explore. Kids can even enjoy a free ride on a 1960’s fire truck through the city. Get ready to climb aboard and put yourself in the boots of a firefighter in Perth’s early days.
