The countdown is on to Christmas day and things are looking merry and bright right across the City. With carols, the annual Christmas Nativity and visits from Santa, there’s no better place to get into the Christmas spirit.

Events for everyone

Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail

Across the City | Now - 1 January

The Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail is back in town, lighting up the City for 41 nights with 20 amazing light installations. You can walk the full trail to see all 20 installations or take the family-friendly route, ‘The Merry Mile’. Enjoy festive entertainment and performances throughout the City on select nights, including weekly visits from Santa Claus in December. Find out more here.

Boorloo Bridge Twilight Community Event

McCallum Park | Sunday 22 December

Perth’s newest pedestrian and cycling bridge opens to the public with a free twilight community event to celebrate. Over 17,000 LED lights will transform the bridge into a digital canvas with colours, imagery and messages which will illuminate this new landmark in a way never seen before in Perth. Walk, wheel or ride down to Boorloo Bridge at McCallum Park and enjoy live music, food trucks, a free sausage sizzle, hot jam donuts, entertainers and kids’ Christmas activities including a visit from Santa and his elves! Christmas Nativity

Forrest Place | 22 - 23 December

A family tradition that has been a part of the fabric of Perth for over 25 years, this family concert is a show for everyone and a chance to sing along to Christmas favourites. Staged over two nights, the traditional story of Christmas is told live on stage in Forrest Place with Christmas carols and performances. Learn more here.

Roy Hill New Year’s Eve Celebrations

Elizabeth Quay & Barrack Square | Tuesday 31 December

See out 2024 with a bang! Elizabeth Quay and Barrack Square will come alive with amusement rides, sideshow alley, food vendors, roving entertainment and more! A family friendly fireworks show will light-up over the Swan River at 8:30pm, and for the first time, a midnight fireworks display will officially ring in 2025.
