Art Gallery of Western Australia (AGWA)

Delve into Death Metal Summer: Deanna Templeton and Ed Templeton at AGWA, a mesmerising exhibition of Californian street photography and skate culture from 1995-2023. Experience the collapse of America's suburban dream through the couple's iconic imagery until 21 April. State of Abstraction, showcases Western Australian abstract and contemporary art from the State Collection. View works from historically important artists alongside emerging talents until 10 March. Don't miss AGWA's monumental Perth Festival exhibit, Yhonnie Scarce: The Light of Day, featuring Australia's largest collection of glass and mixed-media works by the internationally recognised Kokatha and Nukunu artist. Unveil hidden narratives of colonisation's impact on First Nations people until 19 May.

Perth Concert Hall

Cultural satirist, author and Andy Warhol muse, Fran Lebowitz takes to the Perth Concert Hall stage for one night on 17 February . An American purveyor of urban cool, Lebowitz reigns supreme with her sharp wit and scathing, insightful social commentary. Murray Bail’s Miles Franklin Award-winning novel, Eucalyptus, comes alive at Perth Concert Hall with the West Australian Opera on 22 February for Perth Festival in a new opera by composer Jonathan Mills. The show features an outstanding Australian cast, backed by the West Australian Opera Chorus and Symphony Orchestra.

Cathedral Square

Explore the art galleries of Cathedral Square, where Kamilė Gallery presents IKIGAl until 23 February, showcasing philosophical works by Ian Shevack and Julia Freiseisen. Then, starting 23 February, don't miss The Construction of Self, West Australian Mel Dare's debut solo exhibition. Nearby, Art Collective WA offers two vibrant exhibitions exploring colour until March 2: The Palette by Barbara Bolt and Giles Hohnen's New Paintings.

Lotterywest City of Light Show

Join the family Summer series for a grand finale at Elizabeth Quay on 24 and 25 February with the Lotterywest City of Light Show, from 5pm. Cool off in the BHP Water Park, enjoy free roving entertainment, hula hoop workshops, a sideshow alley and food trucks. The closing Light Show kicks-off at 8pm and will feature a 500-piece drone show, followed by a three minute pyrotechnic display off the Elizabeth Quay footbridge.

West Australian Symphony Orchestra (WASO)

Perth comes alive with music throughout March with WASO leading the charge. Enjoy Rachmaninov’s Third Piano Concerto, Tchaikovsky’s Symphony No.4 - Morning, Dvořák’s Cello Concerto and Vivaldi’s Gloria at the Perth Concert Hall, and don’t miss WASO Chorus Sings: Duruflé’s Requiem at St Mary’s Cathedral.
