Royal Perth Hospital Heritage Precinct Walking Tour

The Tour covers the Colonial Hospital, Nurses' quarters, Administration Building (1894), early isolation & electron microscope where the HIV virus was seen for the first time.

Royal Perth Hospital, WA's first dedicated Government Hospital Building opened on 14th July 1855. Built by convicts it was first called "Colonial Hospital", then "Perth Public Hospital" in 1894 and finally Royal Perth Hospital in 1946.

Tour Participants will discover the history of Perth's oldest hospital & stories from guides with first hand experience of working in the hospital, including former Director of Medical Services Dr Bill Beresford.
