That’s why we’ve decided to make a list of all the best burgers in our sweet, sweet city. So grab your fries and a serviette – it’s about to get messy.
Big Burgs For When You’re Starving
RoyAl’s
This place has some seriously next level burgers. We mean that quite literally, as RoyAl’s has a section of their menu dedicated to stacked up burgers with all kinds of tasty sauces and fillings. Grab the King of Crowns to satisfy your burger, mac ‘n’ cheese, bacon and onion ring cravings. Hot tip: they also do incredible fried chicken.
Huxtaburger
Huxtaburger boasts great burgers and tasty thickshakes served up in an extraordinarily short amount of time. Tucked inside Hibernian Place, they use quality antibiotic-free, grass-fed beef, offering up plant-based alternatives from The Alternative Meat Co. Local farmers provide fresh veggies for the best burgs, and their sauces are all house made with fresh ingredients.
The Generous Squire
It’s smashed burger o’clock. Wash down these tasty burgs with a pint of craft beer at The Generous Squire. Bang in the middle of the city, you’ll find crispy, salty and downright delicious smashed burgers with some funky sides. Why not grab a cheese bath (you read that right) to go with your burg, or grab the Snack Pack deal to grab a cheeseburger, chips, mash and gravy, and chicken tenders: all for just $19.
Hoodburger
Hoodburger dishes out seriously good burgers. With the most aesthetically pleasing burger stacks you will ever see, head over here for a seriously good feed. You won’t regret it.
Meet and Bun
Okay, okay, we know you’re probably starving by now, but you’ll want to keep reading for this one. Meet and Bun (cleverly named, if we do say so ourselves), is for the burger aficionados out there. Order up the Dark Knight: a secret blend of spices with Southern fried chicken, smoked bacon, cheddar, slaw, and chipotle mayo, all on a black charcoal bun. Yes, it is as cool as it sounds. And even tastier than it looks.
Short Order
For lunch and dinner 7 days a week, look no further than Short Order. Dishing out Blackwood Valley patties with brioche buns and fresh WA produce, these are the crème de la crème of burgs. FYI, they make all their shakes with Stampede Gelato. How good.
On The Healthier Side
V Burger Bar
Fresh, fresh and fresh is the kind of burgers you’ll find at V Burger Bar. Located in the beautiful Elizabeth Quay, here you can treat yourself to light and airy buns with seriously succulent patties. We’d personally recommend the Chicken Kamikaze (it comes with a soy mirin glaze and wasabi mayo) but everything here is darn delicious.
Greenhorns
You can get your three meals of the day here at Greenhorns: with a brekkie menu, plus a separate one for lunch and dinner, you won’t go hungry. Serving up popcorn chicken plus combo trays for when you’re really hungry, you don’t want to miss these burgs. Spice it up with the Perth Scorcher – a stack of 2 house ground beef patties with maple bacon, onion rings, cheese, veggies and fiery ketchup.
Late Night Bites
The Moon Cafe
Can’t travel to the USA right now? No problem. The Moon Café is right on your doorstep, and it’s a fantastic late night American diner. Serving up delicious burgers with loaded fries, they’ve also got pasta, pizza, nachos and so much more on the menu for all hours or the day. Or night.
Varsity Northbridge
Varsity is a perfect spot for hungry students, and it’s easy to see why. Always serving up awesome deals, grab a seriously good burger and a pint and settle in for the footy here. Plus, they’re open late into the evening to satisfy all your burger-related needs.
