It’s the perfect time to take advantage of all the awesome things on offer in Perth this winter. From winter igloos to wine by the fireplace, Perth isn’t just a summer city: keep reading to find out why.
Head To The Winter Village
All throughout June, July, and into early September, the Ice Cream Factory will be transformed into the winter wonderland that you thought only existed in movies. Complete with an ice-skating rink, snow showers and winter igloos (with fluffy blankets) to get snug and have a bite to eat, you’ll be warming up in no time. P.S., head down on a Tuesday for 2-for-1 ice-skating passes, and grab a hot chocolate while you’re at it.
Settle In At Perth’s Cosiest Bars
Bobeche
Tucked away nice and warm underneath the Heritage Wine Bar is where you’ll find Bobeche. Boasting crafty cocktails and teapot punch, take a seat on the classic leather couches in a dimly lit corner, and get toasty. It feels like you’ve gone back in time 60 years – in the best way possible.
Petition Wine Bar and Merchant
While we love all the Petition venues, the cosiest of them all is the Wine Bar and Merchant, a classy nook inside the State Buildings with an enormous array of only the finest wines. It’ll be an intimate experience: ask the staff any burning questions you’ve ever had about wine, sip to your heart’s content, and nibble on some very, very tasty cheese to top it all off.
Frisk Small Bar
The first gin bar in Perth, Frisk Small Bar sits pretty on the corner of Francis Street and Mountain Terrace. With drinks made to perfection, this venue is the true definition of merry. Rug up and breathe in the fresh air with seating on the street, or head inside and admire the quirky, cute décor while sipping on a G'n'T.
Warm Up By The Fireplace
Picabar
Following the renovations at Picabar, a gorgeous fireplace was uncovered inside near the bar. While Picabar has plenty of seating outside under the trees if you’re the outdoorsy type, you can plonk yourself down by the fireplace to get all warm and toasty. Sidenote, they’ve got a fab selection of craft beers.
The Stables
The Stables was recently expanded into an incredibly beautiful venue, with a coffee shop, bar and restaurant. And we must say, the fireplace is the perfect spot to sip on some good red wine and warm up. Fairy lights adorn the balcony outside, and sleek, dark wooden interiors pull it all together.
Restaurants To Snuggle Into
Lalla Rookh
Hearty pasta, comfy chairs and top notch wines await you at Lalla Rookh. Down the stairs on St. George’s Terrace, you can take a seat in the main restaurant or head out to the wine tasting room for a nice rustic feel. With pretty much every pasta under the sun available (and they’re darn good too), all the carbaholics certainly won’t go hungry here.
Long Chim
Heat up at Long Chim with one of their deliciously spicy dishes. Head into the beautiful State Buildings, wander past the wall mural and find yourself transported into a street in Bangkok. Except it’s a little less frantic. Certainly designed for those who like to warm up spicy style, there’s an abundance of aromatic flavours and incredible cocktails on offer here.Suggested for you
