Here are 6 cafes near to Forrest Place that offer great coffee, food, and personality to boot. Each one is no more than a four-minute walk away on the same block, so you don’t have to backtrack on your way to work, and you don’t have to worry about crossing any busy main roads.

Infusion Coffee & Tea – 1 minute walk

Infusion Coffee & Tea is just a short walk up Plaza Arcade, nestled in behind Uniqlo. Cranking out takeaway coffees for at least 20 years, they’re one of Perth’s original hole-in-the-wall cafes. Their reputation lies in their beans and flavour shots; with a huge selection of origins on offer, you can customise your coffee just how you like it and start the day right.

Standing Room Only – 2 minute walk

While currently settled on the corner of Piccadilly Arcade and Murray Street Mall until the Piccadilly redevelopment is complete, Standing Room Only is a beacon in the Perth CBD coffee scene. Passionate about their coffee, the team offers a range of specialty coffee options, from espresso to dazzling filter selection. It’s the perfect stop on the way to work for an exceptional coffee you’ll be thinking about all day.

The Italian Corner – 3 minutes walk

While the original location may be gone, the youngest Bocelli’s outpost is still thriving. The Italian Corner commands an excellent location on the corner of Wellington and William Streets, and offers up that signature espresso taste you’ve grown to love from Bocelli’s. It’s an easy grab-n-go corner to get your brew on the way to work, with plenty of outdoor tables to make it a fav lunchtime spot, too. Featuring gorgeously stacked continental rolls, daily pasta specials, and delectable gelato, there’s something for everyone.

Max & Sons – 3 minutes walk

Max & Sons is part of the ever-expanding Mo Espresso empire. Housed in Globe Lane at the bottom of 140 William, Max & Sons offer up excellent expresso and filter coffee paired with a solid selection of sandwiches, bagels, and brekky burritos. It’s a great little corner spot with enough relaxed seating to have a quick morning coffee or a lunchtime meeting, that even your Mum will love.

Back Cave Coffee House – 4 minutes walk

Taking over the space that for so many years housed the OG Toastface Grillah, Back Cave Coffee House is more than holding its own. A newer addition to the Perth coffee scene, they’re serving up great quality espresso and cold drinks (and as the weather gets warmer, how can you not be tempted by the Iced Biscoff Latte).

But it’s their toasted sandwiches where they really shine. A bold move, considering the Toastface reputation—or is it a smart one?—you’ll find a mouth-watering selection of toasted delights, from the classic cheese, to a reuben, smoked brisket, and a range of vegetarian and vegan options.

They’re even open Sundays, so you can grab a coffee and a toastie with your Sunday shopping.

Croff Bakehouse – 4 minutes walk

While they do make a mean coffee, when you’re craving a flaky, buttery croissant with your brew in the morning, the sleek Croff Bakehouse on Barrack Street is where it’s at (not to be confused with their new location in Raine Square).

Featuring both sweet and savoury options, these aren’t your typical croissants. Alongside the classics like almond and chocolate you’ll find innovative pastry interpretations, like their best-selling salted egg croissant, with black pastry that has to be seen to be believed. And it just gets better from there, with an exciting range of bolder combinations for a bigger flavour hit. Ever tried a ramen fried chicken croissant? And it’s not just croissants and coffee—if you’re in an adventurous mood, take a crack at the beetroot latte or charcoal latte.
