This Australia Day, we are taking time to Reflect, Respect and Celebrate the diverse and unique country we call home.
- 26 January Langley Park.
- Family fun from 3pm.
- Fireworks and Drones up at 8:15pm!
Beat the heat
Make sure you pack all the essentials to keep you protected from our beautiful Australian sun.
Grab your hat, some sunscreen and light, long sleeve clothing if you’re wanting to complete the full look. We recommend applying often throughout the day.
Hydration is key, so make sure you grab a refillable water bottle – you’ll be able to refill at the drinking water stations located on the map . If you’re toting around an esky on the day, fill it with a waste-free picnic and some ice, of course!
Find the best spot
Compared to previous Australia Day Skyworks events, the light show will be positioned closer to the Perth foreshore (Langley Park) and less central over the Swan River. For the best experience, the City of Perth encourages viewing the City of Light Show from Langley Park.
The drone element of the light show has not been designed to be viewed from other locations and therefore the images will be reversed, or viewing may be restricted from areas such as South Perth or Kings Park.
If viewed from areas outside of Langley Park, the audience will be unable to hear the narrated soundtrack or have access to event facilities. The soundtrack will NOT be played on FM – only on speakers at Langley Park.
Have your shot on TV!
It’s not summer without Channel 7! Take a photo behind the news desk for a sneak peek at life in the studio as a 7NEWS presenter.
Join in on games and activities for your chance to win exciting prizes. Be sure to pick up a Fat Cat doll, and remember, all proceeds will be donated to Telethon.
Make sure you Reflect, Respect, Celebrate.
Featuring a number of informative, educational and entertaining short films and animations including a new video titled Koora, Koora: A Long Long Time Ago plus Six Noongar Seasons, Shining the Light*, and The Story of Us.
The films will be showing on rotation with giveaways and other entertainment throughout the afternoon.
