Spending a day shopping in the malls, climbing the Bell Tower or riding the carousel and ferries at Elizabeth Quay? There are heaps of kid-friendly meals in the Perth CBD.

If you have one who eats nothing but cheese toasties, but you want something a bit more elevated, then Toastface Grillah will keep the whole family happy. Their gourmet toasted sandwiches include plain ol’ grilled cheese for the fussy (or traditionalists), and more adventurous options with ingredients like housemade chilli jam, marinated mushrooms and truffle oil too.

Yearning for a burger? Betty’s Burgers in Forrest Chase has some of the cheapest kids’ burgers in town at under $9. Short Order on Hay St does $11 cheeseburgers between 2pm and 4pm daily, while Grill’d has family bundle deals - head to their William Street or Brookfield Place locations.

For a feast for the eyes as well as the belly, try Milky Lane Elizabeth Quay, where they serve the most OTT burgers and snacks you can imagine. These school hols they’re doing Transformers-themed megashakes: the strawberry-and-bubblegum Optimus and the Oreo-flavoured Megatron. You can also dig into their spring specials like Twisties carbonara cob loaf and cheesy garlic bolognese tacos.

Or for a family-friendly restaurant experience, Ivy & Jack have no fewer than 8 kids’ menu items, from classics like nuggets through to a healthy barramundi with steamed veg or hokkien noodles with greens. Plus, if you’re spending the night at the Holiday Inn for a staycay or city break, kids under 12 eat free!

Everyone wants something different? Avoid an argument and head to one of Perth’s CBD food courts, like 140 Perth or The Underground.
