Whether you need a night out to let a little loose or somewhere to take the kids for a treat, there’s something for everyone in this jam-packed list of fun places to go. We’ve decided to show everyone where’s good and where’s got the most fantastic games in Perth. From vintage arcade games to escape rooms and gaming museums, keep scrolling to find out where you’re spending your next night (or day) out!
Palace Arcade
In case you haven’t already guessed, we’re obsessed with Palace Arcade. With 2 pumping locations in the Perth metro area (with a third on the way), there’s an abundance of awesome arcade games here. If you’re looking for a night out with something a little extra, then look no further. Opening its doors in late 2018, the Northbridge location (the O.G. spot) sits pretty at 84 Beaufort Street. And boy oh boy, is it cool. Palace Arcade boasts vintage games from the 80s and 90s which are sourced globally (think as far as the U.S. and Japan), and there’s truly a game for everyone of any age.
Food-wise, think deliciously HUGE slices of American-style pizza, mac ‘n’ cheese bites, plus fresh AF cocktails and cold, crisp craft beers. They’re always hooking people up with great deals – we love to head down for their half price wing Wednesdays. Yum.
The Nostalgia Box
The Nostalgia Box is a wonderland of all things retro. This is definitely the type of thing for those who love to relive their glory days, appreciate a throwback Thursday, or love to learn something new. This funky museum has more than 100 video game consoles on display, ranging between the 1970s and 2000s. Head into the interactive games area to really get your nerd on. They’ve got all the goodies for you to try your hand at, like Pac-Man, Space Invaders, Mario Kart and so many more classics. What’s even better is you can have birthdays and work parties here! Just make sure you book before arrival so you can get your gaming hat on!
Escape This
Dive head first into a world of haunted houses and bank heists at Escape This. With two categories of escape rooms to choose from (either Adventure or Horror), these are genuine nail-biters. In the adventure section, pick from either The Wizard’s Chamber, Caribbean Pirates or Bank Heist. The Horror escape rooms are likely not for the faint-hearted. If you’re into the hardcore gaming realm, then perhaps the Cannibal, Dracula or Haunting escape rooms will be more for you. Just prepare yourself though – they’re pretty scary (but fun). Get ready to have your heart pumping.
Holey Moley Northbridge
Holey Moley is popular, and there’s a reason why. Head down with friends and grab one of their delicious cocktails and a bite to eat. With choices ranging from 9 holes, 18 holes or 27 holes, you’re in for hours of fun (and probably a lot of silliness). Again, book in if you want to have a party here – they’re darn good hosts. Once you’re all tuckered out from being an absolute golf pro, why not kick back in one of the karaoke rooms?
Timezone Northbridge
Bang in the middle of Northbridge is the childhood favourite, Timezone Northbridge. It truly is a place of memories, games, toys and general happiness. With all the classic games you loved as a kid, take a trip down memory lane to this place.
Zero Latency
Last but certainly not least is Zero Latency. Virtual Reality (VR) has taken the world by storm, and it certainly shows why at this place. Serving up a few very cool choices of ways to experience virtual reality, Zero Latency allows you to roam freely in a room so you can explore the VR to the max. If you’re a fan of all the zombie apocalypse games, why not try the experience Zombie Survival? Equipped with all you need to protect yourself, you’ll be sent into a whole other dimension. Trust us, it feels extremely real, so be prepared (and enjoy!).
