Daniel’s Donuts
Fans have been (not so) patiently waiting for
Daniel’s Donuts to reach Perth and they’re finally here! The cult favourite bakery boasts over 50 donut flavours, as well as barista-made coffee, award-winning pies, milkshakes, cookies, and more.
Mr King Lanzhou Noodles
If you’re strolling down Barrack St at lunchtime, you might notice a line of people queued up outside
Mr King Lanzhou Noodles – and with good reason. They’re serving up generous portions of fresh, hand-pulled noodles 7 days a week. While they’re known for their signature beef noodles, they’ve also got plenty of vegetarian options – hardcore fans can even learn the tricks of the trade at one of their noodle masterclasses.
Pigface Bookstore
The team behind two of Perth’s best independent bookstores, Victoria Park’s Crow Books and New Editions in Freo, is breathing new life into an iconic heritage building with their latest venture,
Pigface. 143 Barrack St has had plenty of eras in its 130+ year history, including housing the first Chinese restaurant in WA, a gun store, bridal boutique and a barber. It’s been lovingly restored and is now home to a curated collection of books spanning literature, philosophy, history, art, design, music and graphic novels. If you can, definitely sneak a peek upstairs for a rare glimpse into Perth’s historic architecture.
