Sip your way through Perth’s best Wine Bars

Lalla Rookh
Wine, glorious wine. We drink it to taste its different, delicious notes; we drink it to wind down after a long day; but most of all, we drink it because it’s so darn good. And us West Aussies do our wines pretty well, if we do say so ourselves.

From hidden underground cellars to intimate neighbourhood bars pouring boutique drops, Perth’s wine scene is having a serious moment. Whether you’re chasing natural wines, European classics, local WA favourites or a perfectly paired cheese board, these wine bars deliver atmosphere in spades alongside exceptional pours.

Here’s where to swirl, sip and settle in around Perth.

Perth CBD

Wine Merchant | State Buildings

Wine Merchant is a must-visit for serious wine lovers, with a focus on premium pours, rare finds and expertly curated selections. Expect knowledgeable staff and a refined yet welcoming atmosphere where discovering your next favourite bottle feels effortless.

The Heritage Wine Bar & Restaurant

Set inside the beautifully restored Royal Insurance Building, The Heritage remains one of Perth’s most iconic wine destinations. The award-winning wine list features benchmark producers alongside emerging labels from around the world, complemented by a European-inspired menu focused on quality local produce. The historic interiors only add to the experience.

Lalla Rookh

Hearty pasta, comfy chairs and top-notch wines await you at Lalla Rookh. Down the stairs on St. George’s Terrace, you can take a seat in the main restaurant or head out to the enoteca style wine tasting room. Treat yourself to a bottle from the extensive wine list (we’re talking over 300 labels), curated by Sommelier Jeremy Prus, which you can either take home or open there and then to sip on. Pair it with one of the divine pasta dishes from the kitchen, and you’re set for the night.

Bobèche Cocktail Bar

While technically famed for cocktails, Bobèche also offers an impressive wine experience within its intimate basement setting beneath The Heritage. The speakeasy-style atmosphere, dim lighting and polished service make it a perfect late-night destination when you’re after something a little moodier.

Small Print

Hidden beneath Brookfield Place, Small Print combines cosy wine bar energy with a polished city setting. Its rotating wine selection leans local and seasonal, while the food menu delivers elevated comfort dishes perfect for pairing. It’s equally suited to quick knock-offs or slow, indulgent evenings.

Copia

Part café, part wine bar, Copia brings European-style aperitivo culture to the Perth CBD. By day it’s a polished coffee stop, but by evening the space transforms into a sophisticated wine destination serving boutique wines and elegant share plates. It’s ideal for after-work drinks that accidentally become dinner.

Mas Vino

Mas Vino is all about approachable wine experiences without the intimidation factor. The intimate venue champions small producers and interesting varietals, making it a favourite for adventurous drinkers looking to discover something new. Expect knowledgeable staff, relaxed vibes and plenty of hidden gems by the glass.

Northbridge

Shadow Bar & Kitchen

Moody lighting, velvet booths and an extensive European wine list make Shadow Bar a Northbridge favourite. The venue strikes the perfect balance between polished and relaxed, with an excellent menu of share-style dishes and classic wine bar snacks. It’s particularly good for date nights or long lunches that stretch into evening drinks.

Astral Weeks

Tucked away in Northbridge, Astral Weeks has built a cult following thanks to its relaxed, retro-inspired interiors and thoughtfully curated wine list. Expect low-intervention wines, vinyl spinning in the background and a menu designed for grazing long into the evening. It’s the kind of place where one glass easily turns into three.

Curate Bar

Located inside Doubletree by Hilton Northbridge, Curate blends contemporary dining with a strong wine offering and lively atmosphere. Expect Australian wines, creative cocktails and a menu showcasing local produce. The stylish interiors and regular live music make it a standout for group catch-ups and weekend drinks.
