Foxtrot Unicorn

Basement, Level 101 St Georges Terrace, Perth

Foxtrot Unicorn is the place to be for cocktail lovers this winter – if you can find it, that is. Hidden underground in an 1887 bank vault, this cosy bar oozes vintage hospitality and is home to some of Perth’s most awarded bartenders. You’ll find all sorts of fine spirits, classic and modern cocktails, an eclectic wine list and some pretty fancy jaffles.

The Royal

531 Wellington St, Perth

Built in 1882, the Royal Hotel has long been a hive of activity in the beating heart of Perth City. With next-level food and curated drinks coupled with a warm, inviting environment, it’s the perfect spot for a post-work catch-up this winter – head upstairs to park up in front of the fireplace and tuck into a classic pub feed.

Julio’s Italian Restaurant

1309 Hay St, West Perth

When the mercury drops Julio’s is the place to be, serving up hearty Italian classics, an extensive wine list and mouthwatering cocktails from a beautifully-restored heritage building on Hay Street. Take a moment to indulge without breaking the bank with their pasta special - savour their pasta of the day with a wine or beer in front of one of their fireplaces for just $25 a pop.

The Stables

As you walk through Stables’ iron gates and wander down the cobblestone path, you’ll be transported far away from the hustle and bustle of the City. Stables is equipped with multiple fireplaces to thaw you out when it’s freezing outside, and if that’s not enough just take a look at their menu – stacked with winter warmers like steak, gnocchi, risotto and lamb.

Picabar

51 James St, Northbridge

If you’re looking for somewhere to defrost that’s a bit more relaxed, Picabar is the place for you. They’ve got delicious drinks, tasty food and a prime Cultural Centre location to boot. Their 2020 renovations uncovered a long-lost, yet fully functional fireplace, making it the perfect place to warm up with friends in the colder months.

The Rechabite has levelled up its winter game, with the rooftop bar now featuring firepits for the cooler months. Is there a better way to cosy up with a cocktail before a show?
