  3. Heres 5 Reasons Why Perth Is One Of The Worlds Most Liveable Cities
It’s no secret that we love Perth – it’s pretty, it’s easy to get literally everywhere, and there’s so much to do (especially in the last few years).
That’s why it comes as no surprise that the Global Liveability Index for 2021 ranked our gorgeous city as the 6th most liveable place on the planet. Pretty exciting! We’ve rounded up five reasons why this is the case: from the sunlight to the beaches, the amazing culture and choices for food and drink, here is why Perth one of the most liveable cities in the world.

1. Weather and Climate

This one comes as no shock. Perth is the sunniest capital city in the world, averaging eight hours of sun per day (that’s a lot of Vitamin D). It’s no wonder that we’re a happy city: we’re early risers; we love the beach and getting out and about. In Perth, don’t be surprised if you see folks taking their canine friends for a run throughout the early hours of the morning, making the most of the beautiful warm weather so early in the A.M. As we say and do so well here in Perth, slip slop slap – the sun’s going to be out!

2. Accessibility

What’s the saying? That it is basically a 20-minute drive to get everywhere in Perth? Yep, you’ve probably heard it, and it’s kind of true. We may be smaller than Melbourne and Sydney, but we’re darn cool and convenient. How good is being able to head out for dinner, enjoy a few drinks, and be back home within the hour having experienced literally zero traffic, cruising home uninterrupted? We’d highly doubt that the bigger cities can offer you that!

3. Beautiful Scenery

Our stunning beaches span along an enormous coastline, and with soft, sugar-white sand and crystal clear waters, it’s pretty easy to see why people from all over the world to come and see them. We mustn’t forget the gorgeous Kings Park, overlooking the city, with an abundance of native flora and fauna, and the beautiful hiking trails all around. If that’s not enough, Perth will 100% win you over if you go and see the kaleidoscope of pinks, purples and oranges created by the fairy floss sunsets which we’re lucky to see every single evening in Perth.

4. Culture

We’ve already covered the awesome outdoorsy lifestyle we are so fortunate to live every single day here in Perth. However, we mustn’t forget the food culture. With restaurants constantly popping up all around, there’s buzzing bars and places to grab a bite around Perth every day of the week. Not to mention the sports culture: the WACA for all things cricket, plus our west coast team, the Eagles, have won 4 premierships, and to top it all off, we have the Matagarup Bridge now connecting East Perth to the incredible sports hub of our city, Optus Stadium.

5. Travel Link to Asia

We’re isolated in Perth – we’re pretty darn far away from other cities. This is what allows us to be pretty independent, and it saved us when COVID-19 struck other places badly. Because of our location, we are a certified travel link to all spots in Asia. Going to Bali? Stop by Perth. Going literally anywhere in south-west Asia? Perth’s your go-to stopping spot. We have a whole world of culture on our doorstep: and when international travel resumes as normal, you best believe we’re going to make the most of our advantageous location on the world map!
