What happens during Ramadan?
Ramadan is a time of sharing humbling experiences across all community members. The purpose of Ramadan is to encourage participants to experience sacrifice and to be humble during the holy month. It is about enduring the hardship that others experience by not having access to food or drink on a regular basis.
Fasting during Ramadan is a key aspect and involves not consuming food or any drink from before sunrise, Fajr, to after sunset, Maghrib.
"Ramadan Mubarak!" is often a phrase spoken by both people participating in Ramadan and also by those giving their respect to others during the time. This is an Arabic phrase which translated simply means “Blessed Ramadan”. So when talking to someone fasting often asking a simple question “How is Ramadan going for you?”
Suhoor is an important meal as this needs to be eaten before the first prayer.
Iftar is a meal shared with Family and Friends at the end of each day’s fasting.
"Eid ul Fitr!" This is a greeting to everyone celebrating the ending of Ramadan.

The Roti King (Halal Suitable)
This is a Restaurant that delivers an amazing Fusion of Traditional subcontinent spices and tastes with the wonderful flavours of Mauritius. Located centrally in Perth City, at 172 St Georges Terrace, you will find a place well worth taking the time to enjoy.
The team at The Roti King have been operating for just over a year now and embraced the challenges of COVID with fresh vigour and enthusiasm. Enduring the challenges by standing tall on the shoulders of quality meals, good portions and priced to be a great value.
Our favourite dish was the Hyderabadi Biryani which is so hard to find satisfying in Perth. The Roti King breaks that barrier down and delivers a Biryani to be enjoyed no matter where you have to travel from to pick up or dine in.
The Traditional Mauritian drinks are wonderfully refreshing drinks and we strongly encourage people to take a moment to visit for the Alouda, Orangina or Pearona.
The Roti King was recently nominated for several Categories with the Halal Food Awards for 2021. Congratulations on achieving so much in such a short time.
