It’s hard to believe, but our towering cosmic visitor - the 7 metre tall Boonji Spaceman has already been in Stirling Gardens for six whole months! Half a year of double-takes and selfies.

When US artist Brendan Murphy gifted Perth its very own Boonji Spaceman, he saw something special about our City of Light identity—born from astronaut John Glenn spotting Perth shining brilliantly from orbit back in 1962.

Perth is one of only six cities in the entire world to have a Boonji Spaceman—joining the ranks of Antigua, London, Oslo, Houston, and Dubai. Like any good interplanetary traveller, each Spaceman is one-of-a-kind. Ours isn’t just a copy, it’s a uniquely Perth creation, crafted by Murphy specifically for our city - Courtesy of Gullotti Galleries.
