His Maj in the Limelight

Celebrate 120 years of His Majesty’s Theatre, Perth’s most iconic live performance venue in the heart of the historic King Street Precinct.

Explore the history and culture of the area in a week long program of projections, tours, family activities, music and live broadcasts from 21 - 28 April as part of the Lotterywest Boorloo Heritage Festival.

Crew & King is open daily from 4:30pm until late 21 to 27 April, and 10am to 7pm (kitchen closes at 6pm) on Sunday 28 April.

  • Projections & Pictures: Sun 21 – to Sun 28 April

    His Maj lights up every evening from dusk to midnight in a light and sound projection installation (on a 5 minute loop) that celebrates 120 years of His Majesty’s Theatre.

    During the day, view historic images and films in shopfront windows. Catch a glimpse of early Perth in Streets Scenes in Perth filmed and screened in Perth in 1907 by the Corrick family entertainers.

  • Music

    Enjoy live music inside and outside his Majesty’s every evening from 21 to 28th April (excluding 25 April, ANZAC Day).

    ABC Radio Perth Live Broadcast

    Monday 22 to Friday 26 April (excluding Anzac Day)

    ABC will be broadcasting live from King Street as part of the Boorloo Heritage Festival. Peer into the windows of 38 King Street to see the Afternoons and Drive shows each day, before the projection light and sound show commences at His Majesty’s Theatre nightly from dusk. The Theatre balconies and Crew & King Café will be open to the public during the show.
