Centre for Stories
Centre for Stories is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to using storytelling to grow skills and confidence, inspire understanding and promote community cohesion.
Their mission goes beyond mere words; it is about empowering storytellers and writers, particularly those whose whose experiences and perspectives may have been historically disempowered and disenfranchised.
With a strong focus on cultural diversity, the Centre creates opportunities for underrepresented storytellers and writers in Western Australia's creative sector. By sharing these stories with arts and community audiences, Centre for Stories aims to drive social change.
The Centre offers a range of services designed to help individuals and organisations craft stories that engage, inform, and influence. These services and amenities are available to people, community groups, government agencies, and the corporate sector. They include:
- Storytelling training and services
- Writing programs for emerging, mid-career, and established writers
- Writing and storytelling workshops, panel conversations, and other events
- Print, online, audio, and video storytelling production services
- Professional development training for teachers, writers, and oral storytellers
- Mentoring for emerging practitioners
