The Dublin Messiah comes to Perth for Easter
Revel in the iconic Hallelujah chorus with a musical rite of the Easter holiday season.
Perth audiences have the chance to experience Handel's iconic Messiah at the Perth Concert Hall this Easter, in a performance inspired by its original 1742 world premiere in Dublin.
On Friday March 22 at 7.30 pm, 100 voices of UWA Choral Society will present the masterpiece led by conductor Kristin Bowtell and featuring a stellar line-up of talented soloists including principal artist for WAO Brigitte Heuser (mezzo soprano) and rising stars Jake Bigwood (bass), Jessica Blunt (soprano) and Kohsei Gilkes (tenor).
Also joining is Australian Baroque (historical instrument performers) led by Helen Kruger, and the state’s leading boys’ choir, Aquinas Schola Cantorum.
Together, the performers will transport the audience to a world of heavenly vocals, resplendent orchestration, and profound spirituality.
The Dublin Messiah will run from 7.30pm to 9.40pm with a 20 minute interval. Tickets for the performance range from $36 to $69, available through the Perth Concert Hall website or in person at the box office.
