Roy Hill New Year’s Eve Celebrations
See out 2024 with a bang! Elizabeth Quay and Barrack Square will come alive with amusement rides, sideshow alley, food vendors, roving entertainment and more!
A family friendly fireworks show will light-up over the Swan River at 8:30pm, and for the first time, a midnight fireworks display will officially ring in 2025.
Please tune into the broadcast for the Roy Hill New Years Celebrations on FM station 89.1 MHz. Note that this station is only for the broadcast of the event on the 31st of December between 5pm and 1am
Accessibility
The City of Perth is proud to host accessible and inclusive events.

- Venue is accessible to people who use wheelchairs, walking aids and who are accompanied with prams.
- First Aid services will be available at this event.
- An Assistance Animal Relief Area will be available on Geoffrey Bolton Avenue, on the area near the toilets as marked on the event map
- An accessible viewing area will be available near the Carousel at Elizabeth Quay – please see the event map for exact location
- A sensory space is available for individuals who need a break from the event’s excitement well as their family members or guardians. Please ensure that family members are not left unattended in this space.
- The closest permanent accessible toilets can be found within Elizabeth Quay and Barrack square.
- Temporary accessible toilets will be provided at Elizabeth Quay, Barrack square and on the Foreshore near Birdya Drive.
- Auslan interpreters will be available during the light show segment. These services will be provided in an accessible viewing area near the Carousel, as indicated on the event map.
- Drinking water can be purchased from food stalls and nearby retailers. Drinking fountains are located at various points around the Elizabeth Quay inlet.

For the fireworks show at 8pm the City will include services for those with hearing and visual impairments within an accessible viewing area near the Carousel, as marked on the event map, including:

Event Road Closures
For public safety, road closures will be installed in/around the Elizabeth Quay precinct to restrict vehicle access and allow safe pedestrian flow. The following road closures occur:
- 2pm to 2am
- Barrack Square Ring Road
- 3pm to 2am
- Geoffrey Bolton Avenue
- Duchess Way
- Enchantress Way
- 7pm to 1am
- Birdiya Drive
- William Street from The Esplanade
The Esplanade will NOT be closed at any point throughout the day.

Light Show ViewingFor the best experience, the City of Perth recommends viewing the Fireworks from Elizabeth Quay, Barrack Square and the Foreshore near Birdya Drive, viewing may be restricted from areas such as South Perth or Kings Park. Additionally, audiences outside Elizabeth Quay, Barrack Square and the Foreshore will not be able to hear the narrated soundtrack or access event facilities.
