OceanXplorer Live Cross

Join the WA Museum for an exclusive Live Cross from the High Seas and meet the scientists aboard OceanXplorer!

Currently at sea on the OceanX-led High Seas: Roo Rise 2026 expedition, OceanXplorer is navigating the South of Java region in the eastern Indian Ocean, near Christmas Island. This live cross will connect you directly to the WA Museum and OceanX scientists working aboard the vessel as they carry out research in one of the ocean's most remote and least understood regions.

The OceanXplorer is the research vessel currently highlighted in WA Museum Boola Bardip's exhibition, OceanXperience, which gives visitors a look at how ocean research is conducted. This is your chance to now hear about it firsthand – from the scientists doing the work.

Hosted by Ben O'Shea, you will meet the scientists, hear about life aboard the world-class vessel and learn how researchers are using cutting-edge science and technology to explore the deep. Plus there's a Q&A so you can ask the scientists everything you ever wanted to know about ocean research.
