Ignorance was Bliss @ The Liberty Theatre

Ignorance was Bliss @ The Liberty Theatre

‘Ignorance was Bliss’ is a nostalgic, immersive dance-theatre experience at the abandoned yet enchanting Liberty Theatre in Perth, evoking the simplicity and warmth of the 1950s.

This whimsical show transports audiences back to an era free from the complexities of our current world. Stepping into the once-thriving cinema, you're instantly transported to the 1950s, where the twist was the dance of the day and the streets buzzed with play until dark. Sentimental yet laced with a comedic spirit, the performance invites audiences to rediscover the past and see what it can teach them about themselves today.
Before the performance, attendees have the opportunity to partake in open swing-dance classes, enjoy some light movie snacks and beverages, while also traversing throughout the reactivated venue.
This event is wheelchair accessible, and the nearest ACROD bays are located on Hay St (between Irwin and Pier St) and two carparks between Pier and Wellington St. They will also be offering swing-dance/movement classes during the day of the 18th and 19th of May for those with accessibility needs.
