If you’ve ever visited Chachi Store on William Street in Northbridge chances are you would have been greeted by the warmth and friendliness of the store’s owner, Chantal. You probably left with something pretty too, and though you may not even know it there’s a good chance that little something was created by an Australian designer with an environmental conscious.
“Sourcing linens bought from a family business, using natural dyes, it’s all very very important towards the bigger picture of fashion”.
From the fresh and clean layout to the lush greenery dotted around, you can see the thought and care that is put in to every aspect of the store. Similarly, the quality and design of the expertly curated clothing and accessories is a tribute to the dedication behind the collection. And it’s this thoughtfulness that carries through to interactions with customers where Chantal loves to play a part in helping people find their own fashion style.
“When someone buys something from Chachi we want them to try and keep that forever… something they love, they feel comfortable in and feel happy to wear”.
Choosing to locate the store in Northbridge is all part of the love and connection Chantal clearly has with the area. From the community feel of the William Street strip to the little ‘friendship family’ of other local retailers, its all part of the charm.
“The community support on this strip is beautiful… we all know each other, we all say g’day”.
Connecting with customers and finding out what they are up to in Northbridge is a favourite part of the job she loves.
“One of my favourite things about Chachi is getting the customers in, finding out what they are doing in Northbridge. From dim sum on a sunday to gin and tonic at No Mafia.. there’s so much to do!”
Chantal’s outlook on life was what made Chachi Store a reality and the advice she imparts to other budding Perth Prodigies is simple.
“A lot of people say follow your dreams. My advice is just go for it, absolutely go for it, see what doors open… you never know where it can go”
