Key Christmas Events Dates

  • Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail | 18 November to 2 January 2023, across the City!
    Now in its sixth year, the Rio Tinto Christmas Lights Trail 2022 covers 6km across the City of Light, over 46 summer evenings. Showcasing 35 unique large-scale light installations ranging from traditional Christmas icons and loveable Australian animals, to immersive projections on historic buildings. Enjoy festive entertainment and performances throughout the city every Friday and Saturday night.

  • Twilight Hawkers Market | 14 October to 31 March 2023, every Friday from 4pm at Forrest Place
    Held in the warmer seasons, the balmy atmosphere will put you in a good mood to enjoy good grub, festive entertainment and encourage you to explore our beautiful City at twilight.

  • Nativity | 17 & 18 December, 6:30pm - 8:30pm, Forrest Place
    Brought to life on stage with a stunning backdrop of color and visual effects, this Nativity performance is led by festive performers, young talent, community choirs and professional acts. It’s a show for everyone and a chance to sing along to your favourite Christmas carols. 

  • Alinta Energy Christmas Pageant | Saturday 3 December
    The city will see a parade of floats dressed in lights and decorations, and over 2,500 performers making their way down St Georges Terrace.

  • Christmas Twilight Market | 18 November, 4pm - 9pm at Perth Cultural Centre
    The Christmas Twilight Markets is an exclusively handmade market with all items handcrafted by stallholders locally in WA. Featuring live music, food vendors, face painting and a visit from Santa.

  • City of Light Show | 19 November and 20 November 2022, 5pm - 8:30pm
    Kick-off the City of Light Show series with a Christmas themed drone show at 8pm across both nights at Elizbeth Quay. Plan ahead and arrive early to Barrack Square from 5pm to enjoy some great food from a variety of food trucks.
