Mustang Bar

Popular bar keeps on rockin'

  • Living Northbridge Mustang Bar

Mustang Bar opened in 1999 on the promise of delivering quality live music and a healthy dose of Americana to the people of Perth.

Built on Mike Keiller’s passion for live music and his business partner’s interest in American cars, the duo identified a gap in the market and staked a claim in the competitive late night entertainment industry that existed in Perth in the 1990s.

I guess I’ve come from a background where I used to go and see lots of quirky bands in funny sorts of venues, so it’s a product of what I enjoy. - Mike Keiller

Diverse acts and a distinctly Americana feel draw consistent crowds at the Mustang Bar, as seen here in 2015.

The long-term success of the venue shows decades worth of patrons enjoy it too, and age is no barrier. Regulars in their late 70s and 80s come in early on a Friday or Saturday, listen to the bands and have a dance.

People say, I love coming here because we know what to expect. We’ve always had a philosophy that whether it’s a rockabilly band or a cover band or a DJ, there’s a baseline of quality. - Mike Keiller

A focus on quality has paid off for Mustang Bar. In 2021, the popular venue celebrated its 21st birthday.

Mike is proud of the longevity of the business and the network of people it supports across every aspect of operation. Along with long-term customers, they have staff, suppliers and contractors that have been with them from the beginning.

Mustang Bar shows that long term investment, passion and integrity pay dividends in any industry.
