Joseph Bolitho Johns is famous for his daring prison escapes. This vibrant children’s exhibition reimagines his story for younger audiences through history, storytelling and art, offering a fresh interpretation of one of Western Australia’s most iconic figures.
At the heart of this exhibition is the recently acquired collection of original illustrations and drafts from the much-loved picture book of the same name by Mark Greenwood and Frané Lessac. These are presented alongside heritage items from the State Library collection.
