On Tuesday 27 October, UWA researchers swap formal presentations for relaxed conversations with the community. Hosted across five Perth CBD venues, our Perth Raising the Bar event gives people the chance to hear directly from experts tackling some of the most challenging questions facing society today.

From deepfakes and mental health to community wellbeing, emerging technologies and the future of Western Australia, the topics are varied, timely and relevant. These aren't distant possibilities or academic thought experiments. They're issues already shaping the way we live, work and connect.

Raising the Bar opens the door to research in a way that's engaging, accessible and genuinely enjoyable. It's an opportunity to discover new ideas, ask questions and see how the work happening at UWA is helping make sense of the world around us and create impact beyond campus.
