Out of the Shadows: The Ros Worthington Community Walk
Out of the Shadows: The Ros Worthington Community Walk
Grief can feel lonely. Remembrance doesn’t have to.
The Out of the Shadows Walk is a special opportunity to come together with others whose lives have been touched by suicide. Held at sunrise in Kings Park, it’s a space to remember, reflect and connect with people who understand that grief can be both deeply personal and shared.
Founded by Dr Ros Worthington OAM, this annual walk was created from a simple but powerful belief: that no one should have to navigate suicide loss alone. Over the years, it has become a meaningful tradition for individuals, families and friends to honour loved ones, share in quiet reflection and support one another.
Whether you’re remembering a parent, child, partner, sibling, friend or colleague, you are welcome. Some people attend every year. Others come for the first time. There is no right way to take part – simply being there is enough.
Walking together at sunrise is a gentle reminder that even in loss, we can find comfort in community, connection and remembrance.
