The Japanese Studies Society is proud to present Matsuri 2026.

Crowned Best Club Event twice, JSS is honored to partner with the City of Perth once again to bring the Japanese festival vibes to the UWA campus for the 10th time in the row.

Date: Wednesday, 16 September 2026
Time: 4 - 9:30pm
Place: Oak Lawn, UWA Crawley

With free entry, come down and find:

  • Live performances - from traditional Japanese instrumental performances to local bands, watch Perth’s Japanese performing arts scene at Matsuri.
  • Traditional martial arts demonstrations - with firm and resolute movements, witness various martial arts.
  • Food trucks and stalls - from savory foods to sweet drinks, satisfy your cravings with all the festivities.
  • Activity stalls - participate in traditional Japanese festival activities like yoyo fishing with a stamp card available at reception! Complete the stamp card to redeem a gacha roll prize or even a raffle ticket.
  • Charity raffle - win prizes from a Switch Lite to a Matsuri-themed hamper, by getting a raffle ticket at reception! All raffle proceeds will be going to Niji no Kai, a Japanese volunteer group in Perth that assist Japanese residents.
