Haiku Poetry Workshop with Rose van Son

Discover the art of haiku in this workshop with poet and writer Rose van Son. 

Whether you are new to poetry or already writing haiku, this session will guide you through the essentials of this much-loved poetic form.

Together, participants will explore:

What makes a haiku?
- The creative process behind writing haiku poetry.
- Techniques for developing and refining your haiku.
- Ways to capture moments, imagery and emotion through language.

This workshop is presented as part of the annual Haiku on Hay Poetry Competition hosted by City of Perth Library, proudly supported by WA Poets Inc.

Rose van Son is a well-published and recognised Western Australian poet and writer. Her work has won prizes and been published in several journals, including Cordite, Westerly, Rabbit, Oystercatcher One, Grieve, and Glasgow Review of Books. Her collections include Cloak of Letters, Nature's Warehouse (Birds in focus) and from the open doorway (haiku).

Rose is a strong advocate for Western Australian writers, particularly through her promotion of Australian haiku poetry. 

Suitable for ages 18 plus.
