Balancing Heritage and Inclusion: Equitable Access at Fremantle Prison

Join us for the second talk in this year’s Heritage Skills Association Winter Warmer Series.

Join Khai Tam and Anita Harrop from O’Brien Harrop Access as they explore the challenges of improving accessibility within the heritage-listed Fremantle Prison. Using the Behind Bars tour case study, they will discuss balancing equitable access, heritage conservation, and compliance under the Disability Discrimination Act and Premises Standards. This talk highlights practical, performance-based solutions that create more inclusive experiences while respecting the cultural significance of heritage places.

This event series is run in partnership with the Heritage Skills Association endorsed by the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage, and the Heritage Council.
