 And that’s a wrap on the fourth annual Lotterywest Boorloo Heritage Festival!

Across April, thousands of people came together to explore more than 100 events across the city - from guided walks and behind-the-scenes tours to exhibitions, talks and performances.

Thank you to everyone who helped bring the Festival to life and to all who came along to celebrate the stories, places and people that shape Boorloo (Perth).

    Boss Crew in Boorloo

    Boss Crew in Boorloo showcased the incredible talent of First Nations artists and emerging performers. Pictured - Rhythm Tide, a WA-based First Nations band blending vocals, didgeridoo, guitar and modern instruments.

    Goomup (Elizabeth Quay) Cultural Walking Tour.

    An immersive journey through Goomup (Elizabeth Quay), along the Derbarl Yerrigan (Swan River), and across the traditional lands of the Whadjuk Nyoongar people.

    Building Stories: Perth

    Through illustrations, gossip and ghost stories, Perth’s historic buildings are brought to life, and uncover surprising stories hiding in plain sight. Launched at Pigface Bookstore, a heritage landmark featured in the book.

    Once Known

    A Carrolup Centre for Truth-telling exhibition, a presentation of selected reproductions of the delicate and culturally significant artworks created by Aboriginal children detained at the Carrolup Native Settlement in the 1940s. A series of Truth Talks were held as part of the exhibition. Pictured - Telling Our Truth - Zali Morgan.

    WA Aids Council

    Freedom Then & Now

    Explores Perth’s queer heritage through the evolution of the Freedom Centre, a safe and creative space for LGBTIQA+ youth. This interactive exhibition and workshop series celebrated stories of community, courage, and care, reflecting how “freedom” has shaped Boorloo’s cultural identity across generations.
