Council house light up at night

Council House

Council House is a 13-storey office building on St Georges Terrace which houses the City of Perth’s administration.

The building celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2023 and was opened by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth on March 25, 1963.

A distinctive part of the Perth city skyline, one of the building’s most recognisable features is its floor to ceiling double glazed sealed windows, set in aluminium frames.

Council House is known as one of the City’s most appealing night time landmarks as it is often illuminated in technicolour lights.  It is also regarded by architecture history experts as one of the best examples of modernist architecture in Perth.
