Sawahime Sake Tasting - Meet the Sake Brew Master!
Come join us on Friday the 27th of September to meet owner and Toji or 'Master Brewer', Mr Hiroshi Inoue from Sawahime Sake Brewery in Tochigi Prefecture, Japan.
We will have 5 of his highly acclaimed, multi award winning sake's to taste including the 2017 London International Wine Challenge Gold Medal sake - Sawahime Shimotsuke Junmai Daiginjo and the 2010 IWC Champion Sake - Sawahime Daiginjo.
Established in 1868, the Sawahime Brewery only uses local ingredients found in the Tochigi prefecture where the brewery is located about an hour north of Tokyo.
Hiroshi's aim is to showcase the splendour of Tochigi through his Sakes's as he supports and collaborates with local rice farmers to help improve the quality of their crops. Hiroshi is also actively involved with the Tochigi Insititute of Brewing, where research is conducted into new yeast strains and techiques to improve the quality of sake brewing in the prefecture.
As Hiroshi is only in Perth for a brief visit, he will be joining us at Gangemi's between 4pm and 6pm however the sake's will be available to taste with with your trusty G team members from 12- 7pm.
