New Year’s Eve Celebrations presented by Roy Hill

Elizabeth Quay comes alive with festivities, roving performances and entertainment, plus fireworks at the family-friendly time of 8pm.

You will also find plenty of on land activities to enjoy such as food trucks and roving entertainment. The kids can join in on the hula hoop workshop or take a ride on the Storm and Teacup before cooling off in the BHP Water Park. There will also be a sideshow alley where you can purchase tickets and test your skills at laughing clowns or the rabbit shooting gallery. 

Entertainment 31 December 2023:

The City of Perth is proud to host accessible and inclusive events.

  • First Aid services will be available at this event. 
  • An Assistance Animal Relief Area will be available on Geoffrey Bolton Avenue, on the area near the toilets as marked on the event map
  • An accessible viewing area will be available near the Carousel at Elizabeth Quay – please see the event map for exact location
  • Drinking water can be purchased from food stalls and nearby retailers. Drinking fountains are located at various points around the Elizabeth Quay inlet.

The closest parking (including accessible parking) can be found here:

  • CPP: Convention Centre (21 Mounts Bay Road and Mitchell Freeway, Perth)
    • Includes 23 ACROD parking bays 

  • CPP: Terrace Road 165 Terrace Road, Perth
    •  Includes 8 ACROD parking bays 

  • CCP: Council House 27 St Georges Terrace, Perth
    • This carpark is not accessible for ACROD parking during the weekend 

Additional temporary ACROD bays will be reserved on The Esplanade and Riverside Drive as on street parking but are subject to availability.

Please note if parking at CPP Convention Centre car park that the pedestrian and vehicle exit to Riverside Drive will be closed during this event. Please exit via Mounts Bay Road and safely cross William Street at the pedestrian crossing.

Rideshare/ Taxis can be ordered to Riverside Drive or The Esplanade as the closet cross streets to the event:

A taxi service is available for passengers with disabilities. This service operates 24 hours a day and it is recommended to book 24 hours in advance to avoid delays. The service can be booked on (08) 9333 3377.

You can also download the Uber and Ola apps to be picked up securely from anywhere in the city.

  • The closest train station can be found at Elizabeth Quay Station, The Esplanade.
  • The closest bus stops are at Elizabeth Quay Bus Station
  • The closest permanent accessible toilets can be found within Elizabeth Quay and Supreme Court Gardens. 
  • Temporary accessible toilets will be provided at Elizabeth Quay 

For the fireworks show at 8pm the City will include services for those with hearing and visual impairments within an accessible viewing area near the Carousel, as marked on the event map, including: 

  • Auslan interpreters 
  • Audio description

To access these services, download the free Sennheiser Mobileconnet App on your mobile device PRIOR to arriving at the performance venue. Connect to the DADAA wifi network to access the app at the venue.
Please ensure that your mobile device is fully charge and bring along your own earphones.

  • Event Road Closures

    For public safety, road closures will be installed within the Elizabeth Quay precinct to restrict vehicle access and allow safe pedestrian flow. 
    The following roads will be closed from 3pm to 10:30pm, or when roads are safe to open:

    • Geoffrey Bolton Ave, Duchess Wy and Enchantress Wy.

    The following roads will be closed from 7pm to 9pm, or when roads are safe to open:

    • William St from The Esplanade to Birdiya Dve to allow patrons to safely exit the event. 

    Please note if parking at CPP Convention Centre car park that the pedestrian and vehicle exit to Riverside Drive will be closed during this event. Please exit via Mounts Bay Road and safely cross William Street at the pedestrian crossing.

  • Light Show Viewing
    For the best experience, the City of Perth encourages viewing the light show from The Landing at Elizabeth Quay. If viewed from areas outside of Elizabeth Quay, the audience will be unable to hear the narrated soundtrack or have access to event facilities.
