The CBD is set to celebrate the changing of the Nyoongar weather season, with a spectacular visit from Bindaran - whose presence celebrates the importance of Nyoongar women's connection to boodjarak-ngat (country).
The six-metre tall, visually spectacular entity - operated by a team of local puppeteers - is set to light up Forrest Place from 28 April to 1 May, inclusive, to share stories of Boorloo for children to learn and pass on.
Bindaran will celebrate the Nyoongar season of Djeran, when cooler weather begins. Performances are set to begin around 5.30pm each evening, but the exact start time will be determined by the sunset.
The Nyoongar calendar has six weather seasons - Birak, Bunuru, Djeran, Makuru, Djilba and Kambarang.
28 April - 1 May 2022 (four nights) from 5:30pm.
*Times may vary from night to night due to sunset.
