A Musical Ramble of UWA (in andante)
The Conservatorium of Music invites visitors on a guided musical ramble – set at an easy-going andante pace – around the rooms, spaces, voids, walkways, and nooks of the campus where music has been heard, played, rehearsed, performed, created, and enjoyed since the 1930s.
This guided promenade tour is an immersive journey designed to engage the senses and the imagination, where ramblers will be drawn to the architectural composition of the Conservatorium’s buildings, the sweeping cathedral of trees of the Somerville Auditorium, and the majestic presence of Winthrop Hall.
The many eclectic stories of the university’s rich music heritage will be discovered along the way, and some of the famous personalities of the past may even be conjured to make an appearance; to leap out of the archives and momentarily return to the stage and to their instruments.
Whether solo, accompanied or part of a family ensemble, all musical ramblers are welcome.
