X-Press Magazine: 41 Years on the Streets
On 21 June 1985, the first printed edition of X-Press Magazine hit Perth’s streets. From humble beginnings as a small but plucky guide to Perth’s nightlife, the magazine became a highly influential bible for all things music, art, fashion, food and drink in Perth. Curated by former X-Press editor Bob Gordon, this free exhibition at the State Library of WA reflects on the magazine’s cultural impact and legacy.

Revealed Exhibition
Showcasing the diversity, depth and cultural strength of Aboriginal art practices, Revealed transports audiences across the vast state of Western Australia—from the red dirt of the Kimberley to the towering forests of the South-West—with works spanning painting, printmaking, photography, drawing, sculpture and weaving. More than 100 Aboriginal artists, representing 28 Aboriginal art centres, as well as 10 independent artists, have contributed a kaleidoscopic 185 artworks to this year’s exhibition, curated by proud Whadjuk, Balladong and Wilman Noongar artist and independent curator Zali Morgan.
