This Australia Day, we are taking time to Reflect, Respect and Celebrate the diverse and unique country we call home.
- Reflect on the past year and get excited about what lies ahead for 2022.
- Respect our Aboriginal and multicultural history.
- Celebrate with food, concerts, culture, roving entertainment, and heaps more!
Ready, set, Skyworks!
Beat the heat
Wednesday is set to hit a high of 34 degrees with nothing but sunshine throughout the day! Make sure you pack all the essentials to keep you protected from our beautiful Australian sun.
Grab your hat, some sunscreen and light, long sleeve clothing if you’re wanting to complete the full look. We recommend applying often throughout the day, especially if you decide to have a splash around at the BHP Water Park in Elizabeth Quay – don’t forget a towel to dry off!
Hydration is key, so make sure you grab a refillable water bottle – you’ll be able to refill at 8 different drinking water stations located on the map . If you’re toting around an esky on the day, fill it with a waste-free picnic and some ice, of course!
Find the best spot
The Swan River is the centrepiece for the largest and longest Australia Day fireworks display in the nation. There are a bunch of spots that surround the river that will give you prime viewing for the show. Check out the downloadable map to see where you can grab the best seats in the house, we recommend getting in early to claim your spot before it all starts at 8pm!
- Riverside Drive:
Enjoy all that there is to offer on Australia Day at Langley Park before settling down to enjoy the show.
- Kings Park:
Take the elevated view and pick your spot, have your best picnic and snacks packed for the perfect evening.
- South Perth Foreshore:
Secure yourself the perfect view of the skyline among the grass while you eagerly wait for the display to begin.
