Factory Summer Festival
11 – 31 December | Ice Cream Factory | One scoop or two?
Ice cream factory is back with a pretty impressive line-up of Aussie Acts. Take your pick from something funky like Cosmo’s Midnight or pop fuelled hip-hop with Illy. And yes, we’ve heard rumours that the zip line will be making a return!
The Boys in the Band
4 – 7 and 11 – 14 November | University of Western Australia | Save your seat
Premiered as an off-Broadway production in the 60’s this enduring story made its way into theatres across the world and now to Perth via a stint on Broadway. One of the first productions to put gay lives front and centre, it is about a group of entertaining, angst-ridden, openly gay men who gather for a friend's birthday - which goes horribly wrong. Presented by the Graduate Dramatic Society this play continues a tradition of community theatre at UWA since 1952.
Perth International Jazz Festival
6 – 8 November| Perth Cultural Centre | Jazz it upSwing into the warmer weather when the Perth International Jazz Festival takes over the city this November. There’s free events happening in the Perth Cultural Centre, State Theatre Centre Courtyard and Northbridge Piazza. Ticketed events are at The Ellington and Rechabite. There’s also a special offer at Shadow Wine Bar for a set course menu which, when timed well, will see you heading next door to the 9pm show at The Rechabite.
A Christmas Carol
4 – 5 December | His Majesty’s Theatre | Book now
We must admit this one piqued our interest from the outset. How can the classic ghost story of A Christmas Carol be performed as a one man show? Featuring all the characters, this 80-minute show looks to be a delightfully fresh take on a Christmas classic.
