Mindeerup at Mends Street Jetty

The piazza at Mindeerup near Mends Street Jetty in South Perth links the foreshore with Perth CBD, Perth Zoo and greater South Perth.

It’s a perfect spot to catch up with friends or simply enjoy the stunning views of the Swan River and Perth city skyline.
Hop off the ferry at Mends Street Jetty and you’ll be greeted by a larger than life frilled neck lizard and numbat.
The name Mindeerup is a traditional Noongar name meaning ‘place of the shore’. The area is significant in Noongar culture and heritage and so many elements pay homage to its history. Look out for the sand sculpture references near the grass area at the piazza. Intricate patterns reference storm clouds, emu feathers, rock formations, waterholes and song lines, all inspired by artist Yondee Shane Hansen.
Take a wander through the piazza and you’ll discover a family of meerkats and a trio of emus. These artworks were created by Western Australia artists Mikaela Castledine and Russell Sheridan.
When the sun goes down, watch as the piazza changes colour through a series of lighting patterns throughout the evening.
