Hay Street Pedestrian Zone

Hay Street Pedestrian Priority Precinct

Located in the city’s newly revitalised East End, WA’s first ever Pedestrian Priority Precinct (PPP) puts you first.

The new precinct is the first of its kind in Perth where pedestrians have right of way, and motorists’ speed limits are reduced to 20km/h.

Starting on the corner of Hay Street and Pier Street, the 150 metre long precinct ends on the corner of Hay Street and Irwin Street in the newly constructed public space Kaal yimniny

The PPP is designed to help pedestrians navigate through the East End with confidence, as it boasts extra wide footpaths, new street furniture, street trees and street art.

There’s plenty to see and do while you’re in the East End! Some of Perth’s finest restaurants and places to stay are nestled away in Hibernian Place in the city’s East. You can enjoy a fine-dining experience at Garum, have a cocktail on Hadiqa’s rooftop and/or indulge in a night’s stay at The Westin. Or try something new in the abundance of unique food offerings all right here in the East End!

There's never been a better time to visit the city's East End and explore all that it has to offer!
