Visible Mending Basics with Sashiko Stitching

Celebrate National Recycling Week and learn how to extend the life of your clothing by incorporating hand stitching techniques like appliqué, embroidery, and sashiko into repairs.

This workshop is perfect for beginners or those who want to rediscover and build on lost skills to personalise their clothes in creative ways. Participants will learn practical sewing techniques and be inspired to find joy in transforming worn items, embracing a more sustainable approach to fashion.

Presented by the City of Perth Waste Education team, this three-hour workshop will be led by Hoop Hoop Hooray AU.

All materials are provided, including Sashiko needle and thread. Feel free to bring your own items to mend, if you wish.

Suitable for ages 16 and above.
