Traditional Morris Dancing - Marlee Morris
Join us for an invigorating display of dance from the folk traditions of rural England, with Marlee Morris.
Marlee Morris are a mixed gender Morris Dancing side that perform traditional dances from the Costwold Hillsand also the English-Welsh border regions. The dancing is lively and energetic and involves either clashing of sticks or 'hanky waving'. The dancers are accompanied by live instruments such as pipe, tabor and melodeon.
The name Marlee is the Noongar indigenous word for the Black Swan which is a symbol of Western Australia (WA). The group proudly represents WA and the broad Australian Morris community.
