Scones, Stories and Secret Recipes
Scones, Stories and Secret Recipes
Presented as part of A Recipe for Life, the State Library of Western Australia’s latest exhibition exploring WA’s food heritage, this panel conversation will explore the enduring influence of both the CWA and its iconic cookbook The CWA Cookery Book and Household Hints on WA’s food landscape.
Join leading WA food writer Max Veenhuysen and a panel of experts for morning tea (and of course scones) as they discuss the CWA’s impact on West Australian palettes. Panellists include CWA of WA CEO Trish Langton, 2025 WA Good Food Guide Chef of the Year Blaze Young and the owner of North Street Store, Little Loaf and Big Loaf, Lachlan Bissett.
If you’re still hungry to learn more, head across the road after this event to the National Archives for tea, biscuits and to hear stories of social change driven by organisations like the CWA as part of the new exhibition Disrupt, Persist, Invent.
