Bell Tower at Barrack Square

Ringing for The King

On Saturday May 6 from 9:00am to 10:00 the city’s bells will ring out to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III.

The bells at The Bell Tower have a long and significant history. For over 250 years they rang out over Trafalgar Square in London where amongst other things they celebrated the coronation of every royal monarch since King George II in 1727. Now in their new home, that tradition is set to continue.

On the morning of the coronation the Bell Tower Ringers will be performing a special piece to commemorate this once in a lifetime event. So come on down to the quay and hear history in the making.
