Pioneering Spaces: Four Women Who Shaped Perth’s Art Scene
Pioneering Spaces: Four Women Who Shaped Perth’s Art Scene
Between the 1950s and 1980s, when the art world was predominantly male-dominated, four remarkable women transformed Perth’s cultural landscape, establishing galleries that became vital platforms for artistic expression and innovation. They created communities, nurtured talent, challenged conventions, built bridges between artists and audiences and Perth’s art scene evolved from provincial to progressive.
This exhibition celebrates their legacy through the works of the artists telling stories of artistic achievement vision and dedication of the women who made such achievements possible.
