Perth's Brilliant Brickwork - Looking at the Treasury, Titles and St. George's Cathedral
Architecture built during Perth's gold boom showcases the well-made bricks of the period, the expertise of the architects in designing fine buildings with that material, and the skills of the builders who constructed them.
There are three brilliant brick constructions in Cathedral Square, all of which have had marvellous conservation treatments to preserve them for ongoing and new uses and to strengthen them against earthquake and wind risks. This work relied on specialised conservation architects, structural engineers, and expert heritage builders.
On this guided tour, we invite all to come, look, touch, and hear about the history and conservation of The Treasury, the Titles Office and St George's Cathedral.
