Perth International Cabaret Festival 2021
Perth International Cabaret Festival (PICF) is WA's first dedicated cabaret festival and honours the great tradition of story telling, and perhaps more particularly, story telling set to music.
The inaugural Perth International Cabaret Festival will be held from 19 - 27 June 2021 within the many performance spaces at His Majesty's Theatre Perth. Our Festival will involve artists from diverse cultures, genders and ages to create a rich, multicultural, intergenerational celebration.Cabaret has a rich history and has existed for hundreds of years; it honours the great traditions of satire and storytelling, particularly storytelling set to music. It’s an art form that spans a broad and eclectic spectrum of styles. Perth International Cabaret Festival will rival the best in the world and provide a platform for pure cabaret in all its styles and forms and will bring the very best cabaret artists to Perth to enrich our social and cultural fabric - in winter.
The Artistic Director for PICF2021 is internationally acclaimed, highly awarded and one of the most consummate cabaret performers in Australia, Michael Griffiths. Michael is a graduate of the Music Theatre degree at WAAPA and winner of multiple awards including a Helpmann Award in 2016.
