Jambo Africa Festival 2023

Jambo Africa Festival is the largest annual gathering of the WA African Communities under the stewardship of OACWA.

The colorful festival brings the vibrance of the Africa Continent to Perth with an incredible selection of exciting music, traditional dancing, diverse artistic and cultural performances, and authentic African cuisine that define our cultural value and identity.

This community-friendly, free, two-day festival typically draws Western Australians from diverse backgrounds.
  • Stage Shows: Our stage is full of energy and elegance, and live non-stop performances, including drummers, artists, dancers, and one-of-a-kind African performances, for two days.
  • Our Food Court: From Mediterranean to the West, from the East to the South, and from Central to the Caribbean Cuisine. The Court also features the best Afro-European food across the Western Australian African community.
  • Market Place: Over 45 small businesses and information stalls selling clothing, fabrics, home goods, and accessories from Africa make up the African Market Place.
  • African Dance Circle: Take part in our workshops to experience the beats and rhythms of Africa.
  • Kids Zone: Come along with your kids and let them have fun with storytelling and face painting, and enjoy a variety of rides, games, and jumping castles.
  • Fashion Parade: You are a fashionista, so participate in our Fashion Parade and show us the traditional clothes you wore that day for a chance to appear on stage and be a part of the festival.
